To get your permit in Missouri, you’ll need to first pass a written knowledge test. Questions will be based on the 2024 Missouri Driver’s Guide, and there will be 25 multiple-choice questions on each exam. You will only pass the exam if you answer at least 20 of the 25 questions correctly. If you need to make more than one attempt, you can even try again on the same day, as you can retest an unlimited amount of times. In addition to taking the written knowledge exam, you’ll also need to take a vision test and a road sign test at your local MSHP examination office. Don’t forget to bring proof of identification, residence, and social security number, as well as the $3.50 for your physical permit. Your permit will be valid for 12 months, and to move on to your intermediate license, if you’re still a minor, there will be a $7.50 license fee. This DOR practice test will help you study to make sure you can pass your test on the first try.
