Getting an intermediate license is the second step of Oklahoma Graduated Driving Licensing System for teenagers between 16 and 18 years of age. It allows you to drive on your own but with several restrictions:
Make sure you don't get any traffic convictions during this time.
If you haven't completed it before getting your permit. You must complete public school driver's ed or driver's education from a commercial school or a parent-taught driver's education. If you are between 16 ½ and 18, you don't have to get driver education, however, if you have completed it, bring the certificate to your drive test appointment.
You must have at least 50 hours of behind-the-wheel training, at least 10 of which are at night. Your trainer may be any licensed driver at least 21 years of age who has been licensed for at least 2 years. Your parent/guardian is required to certify it by signing Affidavit of Driver Training.
You may schedule your appointment online. If you need to reschedule, you may do it with no charge until one minute before the appointment time.
The drive test at DPS is administered at no charge.
If they cannot come, bring the Affidavit of Driver Training completed by your parent/guardian in front of a notary public.
It must have a current tag and valid insurance.
The test will check your ability to drive safely. Read about the drive test procedures here. If you fail the drive test, your examiner will let you know when you may retake it.

You must hold it for at least 6 months or reach 18 years of age to get an unrestricted license. There mustn't be any traffic convictions on your driving record.
If you have never been licensed and you are over 18 years of age, start with step 1.
If you are under 18 and have never been licensed, go to How to Apply for Your Learner Permit in Oklahoma.
If you are over 18 and hold a learner permit, start with step 6.
If you are under 18 but hold an OK intermediate license, you may get your unrestricted license earlier. If you have completed your driving education, you may apply for adult license after 6 months of holding an intermediate license. If you haven't completed the driver education, you may apply for your adult license after a year of holding your intermediate license.
If you feel the need to practice driving before the drive test, you may get a learner permit. It will allow you to drive supervised at all times by a licensed driver of at least 21 years of age. To do it, visit a Tag agency and pay $ 4.00 + $38.50 for the permit issuance. You will have to hold your learner permit for at least 30 days before taking the road test.
You will be asked to demonstrate your ability to drive safely with the traffic and perform basic driving patterns.
If you take the test at your local DPS, there will not charge you anything for it. You may schedule your drive test appointment online. If you need to reschedule, you may do it with no charge until one minute before the appointment time.
If you have taken driver education, you may schedule your exam at your school or DPS. Your school may charge up to $25.00 for the test.

Note that some centers are staffed with one examiner only and they may stop accepting walk-ins much earlier than their formal closing time.
You pass if your visual acuity is 20/60 or better with or without corrective lenses, or 20/50 or better in one eye.
