The Alaska DMV written test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions based on the 2024 State of Alaska Driver Manual. At least a portion of the test will be on road signs. Additional questions will cover topics such as rules of the road, safe driving techniques, and fines and limits. You’ll need to correctly answer at least 16 of the 20 questions to pass, so it is important to study each section of the manual that questions are drawn from. Road signs encompass not only the regulatory or warning signs you see along the road as you drive, but also vehicle signals, and traffic lights. You should be able to know what a sign means, as well as your expected reaction as a driver. Before you take your written test, be prepared: make sure you study a proper amount then bring $15 with you for your instructional permit, proper identification, and a parental consent form if you’re under 18. This DMV practice test, with questions specific to road signage, will help ensure you are familiar with one of the very important aspects of driving.
