To pass the DMV written knowledge test to get your instruction permit or driver’s license in Idaho, you’ll need to answer at least 34 of 40 questions correctly on this multiple-choice test. The exam is based on information that can be found in the 2024 Idaho Driver’s Manual, and is offered in 11 languages, including English and American Sign Language. If you’re under 17, you’ll be required to hold an instruction permit for at least six months before you may test for your driver’s license. Before you take the written exam, which you may take starting at age 15, you’ll need to complete a driver’s education course. Before heading to your local DMV be sure to grab the proper paperwork: identification, proof of residence, and a completed parental consent form and proof of school enrollment if you’re under 18. If you’re not able to pass the written exam on your first attempt, you’ll need to wait three days and repay the testing fee of $3 before you can retest. This DMV practice test will help you study for the knowledge test, so you don’t have to retake it.
