Colorado offers a 25 multiple-choice DMV written test, to prove basic driving knowledge for those looking to apply for their permit. The test is based on the 2024 Colorado Driver Handbook and focuses on road signs, safe driving techniques, and driving under the influence. You’ll need to score an 80% or higher to get your permit. In addition to the written knowledge test, you’ll need to take an eye exam, pay a $16.80 permit fee, provide signed parental consent if you’re a minor, and prove you’ve completed a driving course in you’re under 16. Once you have your permit as a minor, you are required to log the time you spend driving. For those under 18 who’ve held their permit for at least a year and are ready to apply for a driver’s license, you must show at least 50 hours of logged drive time with a minimum of 10 of those hours being at night and all verified by the parent, guardian, or certified instructor who is supervising your driving. This CO DMV permit practice test features questions that are almost identical to those you’ll face on the real written exam.
