If you’re in Alabama, this CDL school bus practice test is for you!
Becoming a school bus driver in Alabama is a rewarding but challenging path, involving multiple steps and several exams you must pass. Students begin with the learning phase, familiarizing themselves with the official 2025 CDL manual (https://m.driving-tests.org/alabama/al-cdl-handbook/). This stage lays the foundation for your career and it is essential to pay attention to certain aspects of commercial driving.
Some school buses can carry up to 72 children, which puts a lot of responsibility on the driver’s shoulders. Only trained professionals are allowed to operate school buses and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) does not issue the “S” endorsement lightly. Aspiring drivers must demonstrate their competency through a series of exams, with the first testing their knowledge on this topic. After passing, they must complete a basic control test, a pre-trip inspection, and a road test in a school bus, where knowledge is put into practice.
Additionally, federal regulations also require all students to undergo a medical examination and pass a mandatory criminal background check. If the school bus you intend to drive carries 16 or more occupants (including yourself), you must obtain a Passenger Vehicles (P) endorsement as well. Keep in mind that all CDLs come with several restrictions unless they are removed by their holder through proper examination. Some school buses are equipped with air brakes. To drive one of those, you must remove this restriction from your CDL by passing an air brakes knowledge test.
Our CDL School Bus practice tests are designed to give you an idea about the format and content of the actual written exam. Each practice test consists of 20 questions and is updated for (current-month-full}, 2025. To pass, you’ll need a score of 80%, but it is perfectly normal to fail in the beginning. You get unlimited attempts and, unlike the official exam, ours doesn’t have a time limit.
Your score is permanently displayed and updated in real-time. There are several features you can use, including voice-over, answer popularity and increasing or decreasing the font size. As you progress, our system keeps track of how many questions you’ve answered correctly and how many more wrong answers you can afford to make until the end of the test.
