The 40 multiple-choice questions on the written knowledge test required to get your Minnesota learner’s permit or driver’s license are based on the 2024 Minnesota Driver’s Manual. To pass the exam, you’ll need to correctly answer at least 32 of the 40 questions. To qualify for a permit, you’ll need to be at least 15 years old, pass a vision test, be able to provide proof of identity, residence, and social security number.
