Alaska DMV Fines and Limits Permit Practice Test 2025

  • Perfect for learner’s permit, driver’s license, and Senior Refresher Test
  • Based on official Alaska Driver's manual
  • Updated for January 2025

Our free Alaska Fines and Limits permit practice test will help you pass your instruction permit knowledge test AND maintain the driving privileges you are working so hard to obtain. This specially designed permit practice test focuses on the potential legal consequences of unsafe driving, especially the loss of driving privileges. It is up to date as of January 2025 and is based on Alaska’s official driver’s manual (Alaska DMV Handbook (AK Driver's Manual) 2025) and the Alaska Statutes.

Here are some things you’ll learn from the 50 questions and answers on this practice test: How many points will be added to your driving record for such common driving offenses as tailgating, running a stop sign, speeding at various speeds, speeding in a school zone, driving under the influence (DUI), and failing to stop for a stopped school bus with flashing red lights? How many points on your driving record will result in license suspension or revocation? Is there any way to get those points reduced? If you’re evidently at fault in an accident but don’t have vehicle liability insurance, how long will the DMV suspend your license? What blood alcohol concentration (BAC) found in a chemical test will result in your license being revoked? How many convictions for DUI will result in permanent revocation of your license?

As with the other Alaska permit practice tests we offer, the Fines and Limits permit test features an automated assistant, which can provide you with a hint or an explanation of the correct answer for a question.

In the United States, about 37 people die in alcohol-related crashes every day. That works out to about one fatality every 39 minutes. About one-third of all traffic deaths involve alcohol-impaired drivers. In 2022, 13,524 people died in traffic crashes in which alcohol impairment was a contributing factor. That same year, there were also 12,151 speeding-related deaths nationwide. Speeding was a contributing factor in 29 percent of traffic fatalities.

In Alaska in 2022, 120 drivers were involved in fatal crashes. There were 82 traffic fatalities in these fatal crashes (1.46 fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles), including 56 passenger vehicle occupants, 8 motorcyclists, 13 pedestrians, and 2 cyclists. 20 of the traffic fatalities were alcohol related (a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or higher), and 31 fatalities were speeding related.

The traffic laws are there for our safety. This Fines and Limits permit practice test is about some of the legal consequences of violating those laws.

Good luck with your knowledge test, and please drive safely!
