Arkansas’s natural beauty presents scenic views to many drivers. From the Ozark Mountains to the Ouachita National Forest, the Bear State is rich in landscapes that often make drivers pull over in designated viewpoints to savor the views. Here, beginners should drive with caution as the stunning landscapes sometimes distract their attention from the road. Your most important responsibility as a driver is to drive safely, and that comes from identifying road signs and following their indications, driving under the speed limit, and obeying local traffic laws.
To obtain a driver’s license in Arkansas, you must pay a $5 test fee and a $40 license fee, provide your birth certificate, pass a vision test, and pass a written knowledge exam consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions. Applicants under 18 must also provide parental consent, a signed school attendance form, and proof that they hold a minimum 2.0 GPA, as well as participate in the state’s graduated driver’s license program. As soon as they turn 14, Arkansas’s residents can take the knowledge exam to receive a learner’s license before graduating to an intermediate license at 16 and an unrestricted license at 18.
The official Arkansas driver license study guide (Arkansas DMV Handbook (AR Driver's Manual) 2025) describes several aspects of driving theory in detail, including the Arkansas seat belt law, traffic control signs, safe driving practices, and vehicle emergencies. While the DMV advises aspiring riders to read the content of this manual at least once, we offer a more efficient alternative to determined students who seek a different approach to traditional study methods.
Each of our Arkansas DMV permit practice tests consists of 40 multiple-choice questions based on the official Arkansas driver license study guide. To pass, you must score at least 80%, but it is perfectly normal to fail on your first few attempts. You get unlimited attempts to practice as often as you want. We recommend starting today and dedicating the following weeks to your learning phase.
