The written knowledge test for Georgia is split into two parts by topic: road rules and road signs. Each section of the test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions based on information pulled from the 2024 Georgia Drivers Manual, and you’ll need to answer at least 15 questions correctly in each section to pass your written exam. Because the test is divided into two parts, you may pass one section and fail the other, in that case, you will be required to come back and retake the other half. This DDS practice test will cover parts from each section of the test, focusing in particular on understanding road signs and responding to situations on the road. Once you’ve read the manual, taken all permit practice tests, and feel ready, you’ll need to bring identification, proof you’re in school in you’re still a minor, and pay a $10 permit fee at your local DDS Customer Service Center. The $10 fee will be required each time you take your knowledge test, and is the same fee for your driving test when you’re ready to move on to your intermediate license.
