    GA DDS driver's license

Free Georgia DDS Permit Practice Test 2025

    • Perfect for learner’s permit, driver’s license, and Senior Refresher Test
    • Based on official Georgia Driver's manual
    • Triple-checked for accuracy
    • Updated for June 2025

The Georgia DDS driver’s permit test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions covering traffic laws, signs, signals, and markings, safe driving practices, and sharing the road, as outlined in the state’s Georgia DDS 2025 Driver’s Manual. To obtain an instructional permit, you must pass a vision screening and a written permit knowledge test. A score of at least 75% (15 out of 40 questions) is required to pass, and testing must take place in person at the DDS. If you fail the knowledge test, you must wait until the next business day and pay a retest fee. Our practice tests make sure that doesn’t happen.
Our free online Georgia DDS Permit Practice Test mimics the actual exam conditions. It features questions and answers based on the state manual and provides immediate feedback for incorrect responses. Additionally, the test is updated for June 2025 to ensure compatibility with {government-agency) requirements.
The Instructional Permit is the first phase of Georgia’s Graduated Driver’s License (GDL) program for minors at least 15 years of age. Once you pass a vision screening and the knowledge test, you’re allowed to drive while supervised by a licensed adult who’s at least 21 and is seated in the front passenger seat. After holding the Instructional Permit for at least one year and one day, completing a state-approved driver’s education course and supervised additional driving hours, and passing a road skills test, you can obtain the Intermediate License. This Class D license restricts driving times and passenger limits. If you’ve had no major traffic violations, you can upgrade to an unrestricted license once you turn 18.

If you’re 18 or older and applying for your first driver’s license, you’ll start with the instructional permit just as described above; however, unlike younger drivers, you don’t need to get an intermediate license. After practicing, when you feel ready, you can pass the road skills test to get your unrestricted Class C license.
Once prepared, go to the DDS with proof of your identity, Social Security number, and two proofs of state residency. If you’re under 18, you will need a School Enrollment (DS-1) Form and a parent or guardian to sign the application, thus assuming responsibility for your driving. Submit the documents, pass the screening, pay the fee, and pass the official written test.
