MN DVS driver's license

Free Minnesota DVS Permit Practice Test Three 2024

  • Perfect for learner’s permit, driver’s license, and Senior Refresher Test
  • Based on official Minnesota Driver's manual
  • Updated for December 2024

The written knowledge test for Minnesota consists of 40 multiple-choice questions based on information from the 2024 Minnesota Driver’s Manual. You’ll need to score an 80% or higher to pass, meaning you can miss no more than eight questions. To take the test and be eligible for a learner’s permit, you must be at least 15 years old, have finished a classroom-based driver’s education course, have enrolled in a behind-the-wheel course, and have a signature showing parental consent on your permit application. Your knowledge and driving tests are both free for your first two attempts; after that, each subsequent test will cost $10 for the written test and $20 for the road tests. After passing the knowledge test, a vision test, and providing proper identification and parental consent if you’re a minor, you’ll need to pay $13.25 for your permit, which will be valid for up to two years. If you’re a minor, you’ll be required to hold your permit for six months before taking your driving test, and if you’re over 18, you’ll need to hold your permit for three months. This DVS practice test can help you practice and get you started on the graduated driver’s license process.
